HANNINGTONS LANE WINS SUSSEX HERITAGE TRUST AWARD
Hanningtons Lane is delighted to have received a Commercial Award at this year’s Sussex Heritage Trust Awards.
Architect Morgan Carn and representatives from Redevco and Westridge Construction will personally receive the award next month on site and are delighted to have been recognised for an outstanding project.
The judges commented, ““An elegant and intriguing project with outstanding attention to detail, enhancing the historic centre of Brighton. First class”.
John McLean, Director at Morgan Carn comments, “Straight after the awards ceremony, which sadly had to take place online this year, a member of the Trust’s team contacted us to say that for the first year they could remember, members of the public were phoning in to ask Hanningtons Lane to receive this award. We couldn’t be more pleased that the public love the new Hanningtons Lane as much as we do and that it is contributing to the heritage and vitality of the city centre.”
Andrew Foulds, Managing Director of Redevco comments, “This award recognises an enormous team effort. Many thanks to John McLean and his team, plus Westridge and all the many sub-contractors involved for their vision and attention to detail.
“Hanningtons Lane was a labour of love for all concerned. Turning a disused service yard, on such a restricted site in the heart of the historic Lanes, into a new retail and cultural quarter for the city, was no mean feat. Seeing the Lane thrive, house innovative and independent retailers and attract a range of visitors is reward enough, but external recognition for a team effort is always fantastic too.”
