A touring art gallery opens its doors within Hanningtons Lane in Brighton this week (Friday 26 July). This is the third artists’ collaboration Redevco has welcomed to Hanningtons Estate in the last twelve months and further exciting projects are planned for later in the year.

Wildfire Gallery will be showcasing a wide range of artistic talent and plans to charge perceptions about art. Gallery Director John Davis explains, “Wildfire is a touring art gallery, travelling across the country, selling art at affordable prices and giving artists a platform to create and exhibit exciting work.

“The aim is to engage people and communities, to change perceptions around art and art galleries. We want to introduce more people to the joy of having unique and original art in their home, where it belongs, by selling artworks at prices we can all afford.”

Andrew Foulds, Portfolio Director at Redevco comments, “First Habitat opened its doors with a local artists collaboration, then we commissioned local artist Eelus to create our fantastic Alice mural and now we are delighted to welcome Wildfire to the new Lane. They join Brass Monkey and The Flint House, with more stores under offer.

“We always envisaged blending art into our exciting fashion, food and lifestyle offer at Hanningtons Estate and are pleased to see this vision come to life. Watch this space for news of another exciting art project in September!

“If you are looking to join a specially curated line up of established and up and coming brands, talk to us about our flexible approach to leasing.”

Redevco is advised by KLM Retail and GCW.

About Wildfire Gallery:

John Davis founded Wildfire Gallery in 2018 after first having the idea in 2015. John is originally from Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk and studied The History and Philosophy of Art at the University of Kent in Canterbury, graduating in 2012, before returning to study an MA in Curating in 2013. A varied career has seen him work in art insurance, as well as for the Salisbury International Arts Festival, Salisbury Playhouse, Salisbury Arts Centre, The National Trust and Waterstones.

John is a self-confessed “culture vulture”; constantly going to exhibitions, concerts, theatre productions etc. His love of theatre has even seen him appear on stage himself once or twice.  A huge fan of music, he is a vinyl and hi-fi enthusiast, always looking to experience new music.

Since the turn of the year, Wildfire has been John’s full-time job and he’s been working hard, already delivering a fantastic launch party to kick this year off in style. Safe to say, with the first shows only round the corner, he and the artists are incredibly excited to show off all the work they’ve been producing so far. www.wildfiregallery.co.uk
