Ayten Gasson and Paxton+Glew Open at Hanningtons Lane
Our lovely new retail and cultural quarter – Hanningtons Estate – is going from strength to strength and has recently welcomed luxury silk lingerie and nightwear designer Ayten Gasson and urban contemporary art gallery Paxton+Glew.
Ayten Gasson opens the door to its new store at 7 Hanningtons Lane tomorrow (14 October). The designer behind the brand – Ayten Roberts – is passionate about luxurious design, ethical manufacturing, quality construction and supporting as many local companies as possible, from lace mills to printers.
Ayten is also well known for her use of upcycled vintage laces – including Nottingham lace – highlighting the traditional skills which the UK was once celebrated for. In addition to this, organic fabrics such as Bamboo and Peace Silk regularly feature within her collections as a testament to her ethical and sustainable approach to production. Every lingerie item from the collection is lovingly produced on the shop floor of their new boutique, which includes a dedicated studio space. Click here for more details.
Ayten comments, “I am so delighted with the location and set up of my new store. It allows for more studio and display space and there is a real community of like-minded designers, artists, entrepreneurs and independents at Hanningtons Lane. We are located opposite fellow designer Sophie Darling and close to Pod, Abi-K, Finisterre and Little Darlings Closet – my assistant and I look forward to welcoming you very soon!”
